Translation of enrollment confirmations

The translated enrollment confirmation should be completely legitimate. To achieve this, translators do the following:

• monitor how such confirmations are drawn up in the target country;
• avoid reinventing the wheel and use expressions with established equivalents;
• use the spelling of first and last names according to a customer’s ID;
• check if the university name in the target language corresponds with its official website or other official documents in order to avoid translation discrepancies.

So instead of transliterating an acronym we choose to translate it. For instance, in an enrollment confirmation from in Bogota, Colombia, we translated the name of the school Colegio C.E.L.C.O. San Lucas as "Школа Святого Луки Евангелическо-лютеранской конгрегации Колумбии (CELCO)", thus spelling the C.E.L.C.O. acronym out in full and leaving the abbreviated form in brackets.
